We will very shortly be saying a fond farewell to our Year 6 children as they move into their various secondary schools.
I wish each and every one of them the very best for their secondary years and whatever the future may hold.

90th Celebration Event - 27th June 2019
As some of you may already be aware, Bramley Sunnyside Junior School will be celebrating it's 90th year of opening. To mark this special occasion we will be holding a fun filled day for both our children and families to participate in.
Children and staff will be dressing up in outfits across the decades (each class has chosen their selected decade). As part of the activities there will be a tombola, any donations for this would be greatly appreciated. Please bring any items to the school office.
Families will be able to join in the celebrations from 2:30pm to 4:30pm and will take place on Thursday 27th June 2019, please watch out for further details.
We wish to remind parents/carers of our new Breakfast Club for children who attend the junior school. The club will commence from Tuesday 3rd September 2019 (Monday 2nd September 2019 is an Inset Day).
The sessions will operate from 7:45am and be located in the school assembly hall. Access to the hall will be via the side yard. This will be signposted. The children will be taken to their classrooms following the club ready for the start of the school day.
The club will be led by Mrs Ashton and Mrs Plant who are highly skilled and experienced members of our support staff and have undertaken and achieved the required food hygiene and safeguarding training.
The cost will be £3.50 per session (pre-bookable and payable in advance) and a variety of age appropriate table top activities and games will be available each day. Places will be limited to 30, therefore we will operate on a first come first served basis.
A selection of cereals and toast with butter and/or jam will be served along with drinks of fruit juice, milk or water. Provision can be made to accommodate any special dietary requirements, food allergies or medical conditions as long as staff are made aware in writing, in advance.
Booking forms are available from the school office.
As you are aware school makes contact with parents via text message, e-mail, letters and newsletters on behalf of FABSS and the Pure Sports after school club.
If any parent/carer should have any issues with this form of communication on behalf of these or any other third parties please contact the school office.
Concerns have been raised from members of the local community about the amount of cars that are parking incosiderately when they are collecting or bringing their children to school. We have received a number of phone calls recently stating that driveways are being blocked and even parked on.
We appreciate that parking can be difficult around school - could we please ask that parents/carers walk to and from school whenever possible.
Thank you.
Our Y6 children had an action packed two days in London, where they saw some of the famous landmarks, enjoyed a River Thames Cruise and watched Wicked, in the West End.
The first evening concluded with a meal in The Rainforest Cafe - which was a wonderful experience.
The children's behaviour was exemplary and members of the public complimented the whole group.
Y3 Residential visit to PGL at Caythorpe
76 of our Y3 children headed off on their very first residential visit to Caythorpe Court in Lincoln, where they stayed at a PGL centre.
Over the two days, the children faced many fears and set personal challenges.
They enjoyed abseiling, the 3G swing, trapeze, buggy build, problem solving and attempting a pretty challenging assault course.
All of the children developed their independence and team working skills and had a thoroughly good time.
What a wonderful commemoration of the 75th D-Day anniversary in the parish of Bramley.
We were honoured to take our student council to represent our school.
We laid a wreath with members of the Parish Council and also shared a reflective prayer.
Please note that diary dates can now be found via the school website by clicking on the school calendar tab at the top of the web page.
This link will then take you to the full school calendar and will allow you to filter on the relevant year group etc applicable to you.
